Christian Jankowski becomes first artist to lead Manifesta as Chief Curator for 2016 Zurich edition
Christian Jankowski, a German artist, has been appointed as the Chief Curator for Manifesta 11, which is scheduled to take place in Zurich in 2016. This marks a historic moment as he is the first artist to assume this role in the biennial's history. Jankowski takes over from Kasper König, who directed Manifesta 10 at the Hermitage Museum, which ended on October 31, 2014. His upcoming project will investigate the themes of authorship and production in art within Zurich. Born in Göttingen in 1968, Jankowski studied at Hamburg's University of Fine Arts and currently resides in Berlin.
