Christian Haas designs Vea tapware for Villeroy & Boch with perfume bottle inspiration

architecture-design · 2026-04-20

German industrial designer Christian Haas has created the Vea tapware collection for Villeroy & Boch, drawing inspiration from classic perfume bottle geometry. The bathroom taps feature precise facets that define edges and refract light, creating a slim silhouette. Available in matt black or chrome finishes, the design eliminates traditional handles in favor of a central control button made from black or white ceramic. This ViPush control allows temperature adjustment through tactile rotation, referencing perfume bottle interactions. Haas describes his approach as 'sensual reduction,' aiming for sculptural qualities that blend discreetly into architectural contexts. The collection launched through Dezeen Showroom, which provides brands with product launch platforms. Villeroy & Boch, a German brand, collaborated with Haas on this design that transforms functional bathroom elements into objects with everyday luxury. The taps come in multiple color combinations including chrome/alpine white and matt black/pure black.
