Chrissie Iles and Meg Onli to Curate 81st Whitney Biennial Opening in 2024

The Whitney Museum of American Art has selected Chrissie Iles and Meg Onli as the curators for its upcoming 81st Biennial, set to launch in early 2024. Iles has been with the Whitney since 1997 and previously co-curated the biennial in 2004 and 2006. Onli, who formerly directed the Underground Museum in Los Angeles, offers a community-oriented viewpoint. Since its inception in 1932, the biennial has showcased approximately 70 contemporary American artists. Scott Rothkopf commended their collaborative skills with artists. The exhibition will span several floors of the Whitney's building located in Manhattan's Meatpacking District.
