Chris Dercon to Lead Tour of Jef Geys Exhibition at Cubitt, London
On Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 19:00, Chris Dercon, the Director of Tate Modern, will guide a tour of the Jef Geys exhibition at Cubitt in London. Previously, while serving as Director of Witte de With in Rotterdam, Dercon commissioned Geys's project 'What are we having for dinner tonight?' (1993). The new work at Cubitt complements this earlier project, which featured live broadcasts of families dining, created in collaboration with the Fifth Architecture Biennale of Rotterdam, addressing the theme of postwar residential areas in Alexanderpolder. The exhibition is open until October 13, 2013. During this time, articles from the Summer 2011 issue of Afterall journal about Geys will be accessible online. This includes Chris Sharp's and Dieter Roelstraete's writings. The tour is a joint event by Afterall and Central Saint Martins MRes Art: Exhibition Studies, in collaboration with Cubitt. Additionally, Dirk Snauwaert will speak at Bar 900 on September 24.
