Chow and Lin's Beijing Exhibition Explores Wheat, Data, and Global Infrastructures

The exhibition 'Even If It Looks Like Grass' by Stefen Chow and Huiyi Lin took place at Bounded Space in Beijing from September 4 to October 8, 2025. Showcasing 11 expansive aerial images of wheat-growing areas and data centers, the works were produced between 2023 and 2025. Viewers encountered over 4,000 research papers displayed across three walls, prompting a shift in perspective. The duo, who have been collaborating since 2009, explores global issues such as poverty and food systems. Initially commissioned for the Lahore Biennale in 2024, the exhibition contrasts 10,000 years of wheat farming with modern data center design, culminating in 'Everything I Own' (2025), a multimedia piece that merges domesticity with mechanical replication.
