Chinese motorcycle exports hit record highs with upmarket push

Chinese motorcycle exports surged to record levels, driven by technological advancements and a shift towards premium segments. According to Chinese customs data, exports reached 26.2 million units worth US$11.28 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23.2% in volume and 26.3% in value. CFMoto, based in Zhejiang province, set a Chinese record when its pre-production sportbike prototype achieved a top speed of 315 km/h (195 mph) during a test run in June. French rider Valentin Debise, competing for China's ZXMOTO, participated in a race in Most, Czech Republic, on May 16. Chinese manufacturers are catching up with foreign peers in design and engine development, entering the upmarket segment.
