Chinese Artists Open Cultural Association in Rome's Chinatown
Chinese sculptor Wang Yongxu, who studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, has co-founded FUNSPACE ART, a cultural association in Rome's Chinatown on Via Principe Eugenio. The space offers painting, Chinese calligraphy, sculpture, yoga, and pilates, with courses taught in Chinese. It aims to support Chinese artists unfamiliar with Rome's art scene, providing exhibition opportunities and visibility. Wang's own work was featured in the group show MATERia – Symposium: Alchimia del marmo che diventa scultura, promoted by the Comune di Cassino with the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea (CAMUSAC). The initiative reflects a growing cultural integration through education, with the Accademia acting as a hub between East and West.
