China to assign unique digital IDs to all humanoid robots for lifecycle tracking
On Friday, China introduced the Humanoid Full Lifecycle Management Service Platform, aimed at assigning distinct digital identifiers to each humanoid robot. This initiative is spearheaded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Humanoid Robotics and Embodied Intelligence Standardization (HEIS) committee. The project's objective is to oversee the entire lifecycle of robots, from creation to disposal. State media outlet CCTV reported that the platform intends to reduce industry risks and establish regulations. Yu Xiuming, deputy head of the China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI), highlighted that various stakeholders, including manufacturers and recyclers, will receive guidelines for effective management.
