China's electronics supply chain pivots to humanoid robots as smartphone market slows

A decline in global smartphone shipments is prompting Chinese electronics manufacturers to shift their focus to humanoid robots. The supply chain for smartphones and electronics in China is leveraging its knowledge to bolster the nation’s emerging and rapidly expanding humanoid robotics sector. Last year, Honor ventured into this field with its robot, Lightning, which surpassed the human world record by over six minutes. Following the event, Honor engineer Yao Bin informed ThePaper.cn that the victory was partly due to the application of smartphone cooling technology in the robots, maintaining the motor's temperature after completing 21km. Key smartphone suppliers like Lingyi iTech, Lens Technology, and AAC Technologies provided structural parts for Honor's D1, as the robotics market moves towards mass production and widespread implementation.
