Guo Jiakun, a spokesman for the foreign ministry, indicated during a Beijing briefing that China would assist in appropriate ways according to Colombia's needs. He confirmed that no Chinese citizens were reported harmed and that the embassy in Bogota is checking on their safety, advising vigilance against aftershock-related risks. President Xi Jinping expressed condolences to President de la Espriella, assuring that the Chinese populace would unite to recover and rebuild swiftly under the new administration. The China International Development Cooperation Agency, represented by spokeswoman Tang Ying, stated it would monitor the situation closely and provide support as requested by Colombia.
