Chilean Photography Exhibition 'Facetas Ocultas' Opens in Rome
The exhibition 'Facetas Ocultas (Fotografia cilena 1980 – 2015)', previously shown in France and Spain, has arrived in Italy for the first time. Held at the Sala Dalì of the Instituto Cervantes in Rome, it is promoted by the institute and the Embassy of Chile in Italy, curated by Daniela Montecinos and Patrice Loubon. The show features works by six Chilean photographers: Zaida Gonzales, Claudio Pérez, Luis Navarro, Alvaro Hoppe, Alejandro Hoppe, and Eleonora Vicuña. It spans three generations and covers 40 years of Chilean photography, focusing on the country's political and social turmoil, particularly the 1973 coup that created a before and after in Chilean history. The exhibition runs until January 4, 2017.
