Chiasmus Partners' La Casa Orb in Yongin, South Korea

Chiasmus Partners completed La Casa Orb in 2023, a 198 m² residence in Yongin-si, South Korea. The house is located in the Hyangrindongsan area of Dongbaek-dong, a residential enclave on a wooded hillside. The site, at mid-slope, naturally frames views toward the nearby village and surrounding forest. The project was curated by Miwa Negoro, with structural engineering by Cheil Structure Lab, main contractor YJ Architect, and HVAC/MEP and electrical engineering by SeungJin Eng. Inc. Photographs were taken by Namsun Lee. The design responds to the topography, with houses, retaining walls, trees, and level changes overlapping to create layered visual connections from intimate gardens to the distant landscape.
