Chiara Teolato appointed director of Savoy Royal Residences
Chiara Teolato, born in 1973, has been appointed director of the Consorzio delle Residenze Reali Sabaude by its Board of Directors on Friday, August 30, 2024, following the indication of Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano. The art historian will lead the Reggia di Venaria Reale and Castello della Mandria, coordinating the enhancement of the sixteen Savoy Royal Residences in Piedmont, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Teolato succeeds Guido Curto, who served for five years. She holds a degree from Sapienza University of Rome (1998) and a specialization in Medieval and Modern Art History (2002), a PhD from Roma Tre University on 18th-century decorative bronzes in Rome, and studied at Leeds and Stockholm. She joined the Regional Directorate of Piedmont as an art historian in 2013, directed Palazzo Carignano in Turin from 2018 to 2021, and most recently directed Villa della Regina.
