Chiara Pirri Valentini's 'Dialoghi con artisti di teatro' collects 57 interviews with theater artists

Chiara Pirri Valentini (born 1989, Rome) has published 'Dialoghi con artisti di teatro' with Bulzoni Editore, a volume compiling 57 interviews she conducted since 2011 with theater artists and curators. The book is structured around specific performances or festival editions, moving from particular to general. Interviewees include Peter Brook, Romeo Castellucci, Collettivo Cinetico, When Hui, and Santasangre. The volume also covers works such as Arkadi Zaides' 'Necropolis', Théo Mercier and Steven Michel's 'Affordable Solutions for Better Living' (which won the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale), Dimitris Papaioannou's 'Still Life', and Philippe Quesne's 'La Mélancolie des dragons'. The book features an introduction by the author, a postface by Stefano Tomassini, and texts by Matteo Antonaci and Fabrizio Grifasi (director of Fondazione Romaeuropa). It also documents recent editions of Romaeuropa Festival, Drodesera at Centrale Fies, and the Atlas of Transitions project. The 288-page book costs €27 and is part of Valentini's ongoing research methodology, which she calls 'raccontarsi l'effimero', also explored on her website-archive Voice of Others.
