Chiara Dynys: Jewelry and Sculpture Dialogue at BABS Art Gallery Milan
BABS Art Gallery in Milan presents a selection of about fifteen unique and limited-edition jewelry pieces by Chiara Dynys (born 1958, Mantua). The works in gold, silver, bronze, enamel, and stone originate from and simultaneously depart from her sculptural practice. Dynys began working in jewelry in 2017. Her jewelry language closely mirrors her sculptural one, condensing themes such as the human condition in relation to the cosmos (Vega), the reconciliation of opposites (Love-Hate), and suffering sublimated into iconic signs (San Sebastiano or Gabbia). In the Milan exhibition, the jewelry directly mirrors the sculptures that generated their conceptual paths. Dynys currently has concurrent shows in Venice and Rome. The golden reflections of the jewelry recall the polyptychs presented at Museo Correr, where gilded frames enclose raw yet poetic contemporary photographs.
