Chiara Camoni's First Spanish Solo Show Opens at Museo Patio Herreriano

exhibition · 2026-04-26

The Museo Patio Herreriano in Valladolid has unveiled 'Erguidas, Yacentes' (Erect, Lying Down), the inaugural solo exhibition of Chiara Camoni in Spain, which will be on display until March 8, 2026. This event aligns with her inclusion in the Italian Pavilion at the 2026 Venice Biennale, curated by Cecilia Canziani. Javier Hontoria, the museum director, commended Camoni for her grasp of the museum's dimensions, resulting in two harmonious installations. The showcase includes vertical sculptures in the Gothic chapel and horizontal pieces in Sala 9, highlighting natural and reclaimed materials. Notable works consist of 'Colonne' figures, 'Sister' sculptures, and the steel dogs Bruno and Tre, which guard an installation featuring onyx stones and marble fragments. The museum is home to Spain's third-largest contemporary art collection.
