Chiara Camoni on Ceramics, Collective Practice, and the Power of Objects
Born in 1974 in Piacenza, Chiara Camoni studied sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera and later contributed to the Istituto per la Diffusione delle Scienze Naturali in Naples. In 2007, she established MAGra, followed by the creation of the Vladivostok group in 2010, and currently resides in Fabbiano, Alta Versilia. In a conversation with Irene Biolchini, she reflects on the progression of her ceramic work, highlighting pieces like 'Senza titolo, l’esercito di terracotta' (2011-12) and 'Kabira' at Museo Carlo Zauli, which featured texts from Jacques Rancière, Arturo Martini, and Silvia Federici. On October 17, she inaugurated the 'Centro di Sperimentazione' in Faenza, dedicated to ceramics, weaving, and poetry, with a focus on collective efforts and alchemical transformations in her art.
