Chia-Wei Hsu Wins 10th Eye Art & Film Prize
Taiwanese artist and filmmaker Chia-Wei Hsu has been awarded the tenth Eye Art & Film Prize, receiving €30,000 and a joint exhibition at Amsterdam’s Eye Filmmuseum. Selected by an international jury, Hsu joins previous winners including Garrett Bradley (2023), Saodat Ismailova (2022), and Karrabing Film Collective (2021). His work explores intersections of geopolitical developments and Southeast Asian life. In 2017, he was featured in ArtReview’s Future Greats series. Jury chair Bregtje van der Haak praised his fusion of archaeology and technology, noting his meticulous alignment of form with content and thoughtful spatial presentation.
