Chernobyl 40th anniversary, Paula Rego at Munch, Gluck flower painting featured in podcast
The Art Newspaper podcast covers three exhibitions. The 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster is marked by an exhibition at Nikolaikirche in Potsdam, Germany, titled 'The Chernobyl disaster: 40 years ago and yet still relevant', running until 27 April. Organiser Olha Kovalevska is interviewed. At Munch in Oslo, 'Paula Rego: Dance Among Thorns' opens 24 April to 2 August, exploring Rego's interest in Edvard Munch; curator Kari J. Brandtzæg discusses the show. The Work of the Week is Gluck's 'Convolvulus' (1940), part of 'Handpicked: Painting Flowers from 1900 to Today' at Kettle's Yard, Cambridge, from 25 April to 6 September. Co-curator Naomi Polonsky comments on the painting. Additionally, 'Paula Rego: Story Line' runs at Victoria Miro, London, until 23 May.
