Chef Antonello Colonna and Art Advisor Carlotta Mastroianni Launch Zolle Artist Residency in Labico
Chef Antonello Colonna and art advisor Carlotta Mastroianni have launched Zolle, an artist residency program at the Antonello Colonna Resort in Labico, near Rome. The project focuses on the relationship between humans and the natural environment, inviting three young artists from the Lazio region to create works on this theme during 20-day residencies. The first resident artist is Alice Paltrinieri, whose exhibition runs from March 24 to May 26, 2019, followed by Viola Pantano and Donatella Spaziani. Mastroianni, founder of the art advisory platform ADA (launched in 2018), selected the artists with curator Lorenzo Rubini. Colonna, who transformed his family-run osteria into a luxury resort in 1985 (architectural design by Aniello Tasca), has long integrated art into the space, featuring Thonet chairs and Ginori porcelain. The resort also hosts events in art, photography, design, and fashion, and Colonna manages the catering at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. The residency aims to become a recurring international exchange, with artists reconnecting to the Lazio territory.
