Chef Andrea Aprea to Open Restaurant at Milan's New Etruscan Museum

cultural-heritage · 2026-04-27

The Fondazione Luigi Rovati has appointed chef Andrea Aprea to lead the restaurant and bar-bistrot at the upcoming Museo Etrusco in Milan, set to open in early 2022. Housed in the restored Palazzo Bocconi-Rizzoli-Carraro on Corso Venezia, the museum will display the Rovati family's archaeological collection repatriated from Switzerland. Aprea, who earned two Michelin stars at VUN Andrea Aprea in Park Hyatt Milan (2011–2021), will oversee both a 32-seat fine dining restaurant on the top floor with panoramic city views and a ground-floor bar-bistrot overlooking the internal garden. Both spaces, designed by architect Flaviano Capriotti, will feature site-specific works by young artists. Foundation vice president Giovanna Forlanelli emphasized that the collaboration aligns with the foundation's mission to support creative talent and that the museum will offer multifunctional services including workshops and temporary exhibitions. The museum's collection will rotate approximately 300 artifacts from over 4,000 acquired pieces.
