CHEAP Street Poster Art Festival Celebrates 10 Years with Book and MAMbo Exhibition

The feminist street poster art festival CHEAP, founded in Bologna in 2013 by six women, marks its tenth anniversary with a new book and a museum exhibition. The book "Disobbedite con Generosità" (published by People, 2023, 184 pages, €22) chronicles the collective's decade-long evolution, highlighting collaborations with the Guerrilla Girls—who called CHEAP "our Italian cell"—and artist MISS ME. The group, rooted in underground political activism, uses uncensored, real language to address societal issues often suppressed by mainstream culture. The MAMbo museum in Bologna hosts an exhibition celebrating the anniversary, running until December 17, 2023, centered on sabotage as a transformative artistic practice. CHEAP has transformed the city through its annual festival since 2013, continuously reinventing itself.
