Chaumet & Nature Exhibition in Doha Showcases 240 Years of Nature-Inspired Jewellery

exhibition · 2026-04-22

The M7 Msheireb Downtown Doha is hosting the Chaumet & Nature exhibition, featuring more than 100 pieces from the French Maison's collection alongside artifacts from Qatar Museums, commemorating the jeweller's 240-year relationship with natural themes. This is Qatar's inaugural exhibition of such magnitude, derived from the 2022 Végétal – L'École de la beauté showcase at the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris. The exhibition is divided into five thematic segments that delve into nature's influence on Chaumet's creations, including botanical and oceanic inspirations. Notable items include an 1811 wheat-ear tiara made for Empress Joséphine by Napoléon I and a circa 1900 emerald tiara belonging to Countess Katharina Henckel von Donnersmarck. It features 111 visual works chronicling the Maison's history from founder Marie-Étienne Nitot in 1780 to its acquisition by LVMH in 1999. Collaborations from Qatar include a poem by Salman Bin Khalid and Shouq Al Mana's exclusive pearl basket artwork, Altawash, which nods to Qatar's pearl-trading legacy. The exhibition, showcasing 66,000 nature-inspired sketches and archival photos of prominent clients like Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, will be open until 19 December 2024.
