Charta Photo-book Festival Launches in Rome's San Lorenzo District
From July 17 to 25, Rome's San Lorenzo district will host the inaugural Charta Festival, a celebration of photo books, with backing from the Italian Ministry of Culture. This complimentary festival, centered around the theme "Demons," explores pressing social, psychological, and territorial issues. Artistic director Francesco Rombaldi seeks to bridge the gap between authors and the publishing sector while making use of unused spaces. Attendees can expect to see 100 titles from five publishers: Choisi, Libreria Marini, Paper Room, StudioFaganel, and Xyz. An exhibition presented by Yogurt Magazine will feature works from an open call. The festival's opening night will include a live performance by Exhibition Poland and the Helmut Orchestra, alongside portfolio reviews and a book market at Materia Gallery.
