Charlotte Laubard to Curate Swiss Pavilion at 2019 Venice Biennale
Charlotte Laubard, an art historian and independent curator based in Geneva, has been named the curator for the Swiss Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale, scheduled from May 11 to November 24, 2019. Pro Helvetia made this decision following a proposal from an independent jury that included Jacqueline Uhlmann, Laurence Bonvin, Balthazar Lovay, Michele Robecchi, and Christina Végh. Laubard has previously served as the director of the CAPC in Bordeaux (2006–2013) and worked as an assistant curator at Castello di Rivoli in Turin. She holds a master's degree in art history and leads the Visual Arts Department at HEAD in Geneva. Additionally, she was the artistic director for Nuit Blanche Paris 2017 and co-founded the Société suisse des Nouveaux commanditaires.
