Chanel's Coco Beach Bag Reimagined by Matthieu Blazy

Matthieu Blazy has redesigned the classic beach bag for Chanel's Coco Beach collection, drawing on the house's deep seaside heritage. The bag features a chain strap, tufty towelling texture, and fuzzed stripes reminiscent of submerged patterns or rain-soaked deckchairs. It was first shown in Blazy's debut show in October, and is now available in-store only. Chanel's connection to the beach dates back to Gabrielle Chanel selling clothes on the Deauville beachfront and using jersey fabric from sailors' underwear. The brand's annual Coco Beach collection includes swimsuits and cover-ups with fish and floral motifs. Blazy's recent cruise show in Biarritz highlighted Chanel's history, as Coco Chanel presented her first couture collection there rather than in Paris.
