Chanel, Dior, Gucci debut Cruise 2027 collections globally

The Cruise 2027 runway season, running from late April to early June 2026, features major houses staging shows outside traditional fashion capitals. Chanel kicked off on 28 April 2026 in Biarritz, France, with Matthieu Blazy's first Cruise collection for the house. Blazy drew on Coco Chanel's legacy of freedom and the seaside locale, presenting looks with 1920s-style swim caps, voluminous black dresses, printed skirts with tassels, and bold tweeds. Accessories included oversized beach bags and 'heel caps' that leave the foot bare. The collection emphasized summertime liberation, echoing Chanel's quote: 'There is no beauty without freedom of the body.' Other debuts include Jonathan Anderson at Dior in Los Angeles (venue: LACMA) and Demna at Gucci in New York. Louis Vuitton also shows in New York. Hermès presents 'Chapter 2' of its A/W 2026 womenswear in Los Angeles on 4 June 2026. Max Mara will show in Shanghai on 16 June 2026. The US focus is seen as a bid to engage American consumers, per analyst Luca Solca of Bernstein.
