exhibition · 2026-04-28

Lithuanian interdisciplinary artist Lina Lapelytė will debut her large-scale sonic installation and performance "We Make Years Out of Hours" (2026) at Berlin's Hamburger Bahnhof — Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart on May 1st, 2026, as part of Berlin Gallery Weekend. This marks the second iteration of the Chanel Commission. The work transforms the museum's historic hall into a collaborative space featuring 400,000 small wooden cubes that visitors can stack and dismantle. A libretto based on poems by writers and artists, including a Lebanese artist, explores themes of community, love, loss, and hope. Performances occur on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays through January 10, 2027, with a public preview on April 30th, 2026.
