Chanel awards €100,000 Next Prize to ten global artists including Precious Okoyomon and Wang Bing

Chanel has announced its first-ever Next Prize winners, awarding each of the ten recipients €100,000. Among the honorees is Precious Okoyomon, a poet and artist celebrated for her immersive installations, alongside filmmaker Wang Bing, who explores class and economic issues in China. The final choices were made by a jury that included artist Cao Fei, architect David Adjaye, and actress Tilda Swinton, who evaluated nominations from a 25-member international advisory board. Additional recipients include the Keiken collective, featuring artists Hana Omori, Isabel Ramos, and Tanya Cruz, as well as Argentinian director Eduardo Williams, South Korean composer Jung Jae-il, and South Sudanese game designer Lual Mayen. The list also features choreographer Marlene Monteiro Freitas, director Rungano Nyoni, director Marie Schleef, and choreographer Botis Seva.
