Chadian-French Wedding at Château Bellefont-Belcier Blends Traditions

Imane Abba-Kaka and Patrick Guerriero, who met in New York City in 2021, married on June 6, 2026, at Château Bellefont-Belcier in Saint-Émilion, France. The wedding blended Chadian traditions with French romance, featuring two ceremonies: a traditional Chadian celebration on Friday and a Western ceremony on Saturday. The Chadian ceremony included red attire, henna, money-throwing, and symbolic items like a ceremonial sword and umbrella. The bride wore a custom Pnina Tornai couture gown for the Western ceremony, and the couple's first dance was to a French song. Guests traveled from Europe, Africa, and the United States. The couple chose Saint-Émilion because Imane lived in Bordeaux as a child and her twin brothers were born there. They booked the château without seeing it in person.
