CFDA Designers Reimagine State Flags for America's 250th Anniversary

To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has crafted over 120 creative flags that represent all 50 states, five territories, and Washington, D.C. These artistic flags are on display at Rockefeller Center in New York City until September 4, 2026, after which they’ll be given to the SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah, Georgia. Well-known designers like Thom Browne, Norma Kamali, Zac Posen, and Rachel Scott participated, showcasing their distinct styles. For example, Browne's Pennsylvania flag is in all gray, Kamali used red socks for Massachusetts, and Posen's California flag features denim. Scott's design for the U.S. Virgin Islands includes a striking black diagonal band. The initiative is called "United Flags of Fashion."
