Ceramiche Molaroni Exhibition at Casa Bucci Celebrates Pesaro's Maiolica Legacy

A new exhibition titled 'Ceramiche Molaroni: il gesto fedele' has opened at Casa Bucci in Pesaro, showcasing ceramics from the private collection of the Molaroni family. The show runs until January 10, 2026, and honors one of Italy's oldest workshops, founded by Vincenzo Molaroni in the late 19th century and still active today. Pesaro's ceramic tradition dates back to Roman times, with abundant clay from the Foglia River. The city's maiolica flourished between the Middle Ages and Renaissance, a history rediscovered in the 1980s. Pesaro is a member of the Italian Association of Ceramic Cities (AiCC). Casa Bucci, a cultural center in the former workshop of ceramist Franco Bucci, preserves the Bucci Archive and promotes ceramic art. The exhibition traces the Molaroni workshop's evolution from 1880 to the present, including its famous decors like Istoriato, Grottesche, Liberty, and Raffaellesco blu. It also highlights the connection between Franco Bucci and the Molaroni workshop, where Bucci began his career in 1961. Curated by Viviana Bucci, the exhibition is organized by the Associazione Culturale Società dell'Uso with support from the Regione Marche and the Comune di Pesaro. Admission is free, with guided tours available on Saturdays and Sundays.
