Centro Pecci's TU35 Expanded Call Opens to Four Regions and Performing Arts
The Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato has launched the TU35 Expanded call for 2017, broadening its scope beyond Tuscany to include Umbria, Marche, and Emilia Romagna. Two separate calls target artists under 35: one for visual arts and another for music, cinema, theater, dance, and performance. The deadline for applications is July 10, 2017. A jury comprising independent curators Giacomo Bazzani, Lorenzo Bruni, Matteo Innocenti, and Elena Magini of the Pecci Center will select the winners. Each discipline offers a prize of €3,000, to be awarded at the final event on October 1. For visual arts, an exhibition opening July 20 will feature 25 young artists—20 nominated by professionals from the involved regions and 5 selected via open call. For performing arts, in collaboration with Teatro Metastasio di Prato, 8 to 16 finalists per discipline will be chosen, with concerts, shows, and screenings held at the Pecci Center throughout the exhibition. Director Fabio Cavallucci stated that the expansion aims to foster dialogue with other national institutions and integrate all artistic dimensions.
