Centro Pecci revokes director Cristiana Perrella's mandate

institutional · 2026-04-27

The Fondazione per le Arti Contemporanee in Toscana's Board of Directors has terminated Cristiana Perrella's role as General Director of the Centro per le Arti Contemporanee Luigi Pecci in Prato, referencing contractual agreements established on February 16, 2021. Perrella, who was born in Rome in 1965, has been at the museum's helm since 2018, following Fabio Cavallucci, with her term originally scheduled to end in 2024. The Board is now initiating a search for a new director, anticipated to conclude by the end of the year. Perrella plans to pursue legal action, citing differences in vision with the Board and alleged breaches of contract. Board President Lorenzo Bini Smaghi is engaging a headhunting firm to find a successor, with the goal of rejuvenating the museum's reputation.
