Centro Pecci Presents 'Dalla Caverna alla Luna' Survey of Three Decades of Collecting

Curated by Stefano Pezzato, the exhibition 'Dalla Caverna alla Luna' at Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato presents a selection of works acquired over the past thirty years. The show is structured as a series of dialogic sections, tracing a vast temporal arc from the primordial anti-world of Pinot Gallizio's 'Caverna dell'antimateria' to Fabio Mauri's 'Luna,' a contemporary vision of human achievement. Highlights include Maria Mulas's large-format portraits of artists and critics, Massimo Vitali's 'Pic-Nic Allée,' Gilberto Zorio's alchemical 'Canoa,' Julian Schnabel's 'Ri de Pomme,' and David Tremlett's triptych 'Solo (Made in Madras).' The exhibition also explores space and architecture through works by Remo Salvadori, Mario Merz, Superstudio, Paolo Scheggi, Lucio Fontana, Robert Morris, and Anish Kapoor. Materiality is foregrounded in pieces by Loris Cecchini, Jan Fabre, and Ilya Kabakov. The human figure is central in works by Enzo Cucchi, Jannis Kounellis, Vito Acconci, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Andy Warhol, and Valie Export.
