Centro Pecci Open Call for Maloberti's RAID Performance

The Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato has launched an open call for 50 participants to join RAID, a new performance by artist Marcello Maloberti (born 1966 in Codogno, Lodi). The performance will take place on October 13, 2018, at the museum as part of the 14th edition of the Giornata del Contemporaneo, promoted by AMACI. Maloberti's work is part of the Centro Pecci's 30th-anniversary celebrations throughout 2018. For the first time, AMACI's guidelines for the 2018 Giornata del Contemporaneo include both a guiding image and a nationwide solo exhibition. Maloberti conceived RAID specifically for the museum spaces, where it will dialogue with a new exhibition featuring part of the museum's collection. The performance is described as a 'show within a show,' an echo of the ancient, with performers as sound signals gently invading the space, creating a path through time and memory. The work draws on Maloberti's recurring themes: fascination with books, iconic art history images, and the blend of museum space and ephemeral actions. Performers will move randomly and spontaneously, leaving minimal yet evocative traces. The open call seeks 50 participants aged 18 to 40, of all ethnicities and religions. Applications, including CV and photo, must be sent by September 30, 2018, to the specified email with subject 'Candidatura RAID'. Selected participants will be notified by October 5.
