Centre Pompidou to host Gianfranco Baruchello centenary retrospective

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Established in 1998 by Gianfranco Baruchello and Carla Subrizi, the Fondazione Baruchello is organizing celebrations to mark the centenary of Baruchello (Livorno, 1924 – Rome, 2023). Kicking off the festivities, a retrospective titled "Doux comme saveur" will take place at the Centre Pompidou in Paris from October 25, 2024, to March 2025, featuring a film that includes 24 hours of interviews. In November, Subrizi will release "Baruchello. Certe idee," along with reprints of Baruchello's works by Arbor Editions. Additionally, a workshop for students and artists is set for November. An international conference is scheduled for January 23–24, 2025, in Rome, and a book on Baruchello's later drawings is anticipated next year, with a Catalogue Raisonné due by 2026.
