Centre Pompidou and Fondazione Bonotto Launch Prize for Experimental Poetry

award · 2026-05-05

In Paris, the Centre Pompidou, in partnership with the Fondazione Bonotto, has launched the Prix Littéraire Bernard Heidsieck – Centre Pompidou to celebrate experimental literature that transcends traditional books. This award, named in honor of poet Bernard Heidsieck, who introduced the term "hors-livre," will be awarded on September 6, 2017, at the Extra! festival. It features three categories: the Prix d'honneur for lifetime achievement, the Prix de l'année for exceptional work, and the Mention Spéciale Fondazione Bonotto, which offers a week-long residency in Molvena, Italy, to create a tapestry. Patrizio Peterlini remarked that the collaboration arose naturally due to their mutual interests in experimental poetry, honoring over a century of avant-garde literary exploration.
