Central Texas Fall 2026 Exhibition Preview: From Moki Cherry to Haas Brothers
Museums and galleries in Central Texas are gearing up for an eventful fall season in 2026. On August 19, Texas State Galleries in San Marcos will debut two exhibitions: new paintings by Jules Buck Jones for the Round Rock campus and a video installation by Ana Baer Carrillo featuring soundtracks by Richard D. Hall. Following this, on August 28, the Russell Hill Rogers Gallery at UTSA will showcase a photography retrospective of Trish Simonite, curated by Paula Owen. The University of Texas at Austin's Art Galleries at Black Studies will unveil 'Made in Texas' on September 3. The Visual Arts Center will introduce three exhibitions on September 4, while The Contemporary Austin will feature 'The Living Temple: The World of Moki Cherry' starting September 18. Ruby City will present 'Generative Disruption' on September 26, and the Blanton Museum will host 'Haas Brothers: Uncanny Valley' from September 27. Finally, the McNay Art Museum will exhibit 'Suki Seokyeong Kang' beginning October 30, and the San Antonio Museum of Art will conclude the season with 'Ancient Beauty and Body Art from Four Continents' on November 21.
