Central Australia's Aboriginal art festivals and cultural experiences

Central Australia offers immersive cultural experiences including Aboriginal art festivals, guided bush tucker walks, and ancient rock art sites. Desert Mob, held from September 10 to October 25 in Mparntwe/Alice Springs, is one of Australia's oldest Aboriginal art festivals, featuring exhibitions, workshops, performances, and a market. Parrtjima is a free ten-day light festival in Alice Springs with large-scale installations, music, and talks. Other experiences include Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience near Watarrka/Kings Canyon, watercolour classes at Rungutjirpa/Simpsons Gap, dot painting workshops at Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, and visits to Standley Chasm (Tjoritja/West MacDonnell National Park) and Napwerte/Ewaninga petroglyph site.
