Centenary of Gianni Rodari celebrated with Munari exhibition in Rome

The exhibition 'Tra Munari e Rodari' at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome marks the centenary of Gianni Rodari's birth, focusing on the creative partnership between Rodari and Bruno Munari. Curated by Biblioteche di Roma and Corraini Edizioni, the show runs until October 24, 2020. It highlights their collaboration initiated by publisher Giulio Einaudi in 1960 for Rodari's first book 'Filastrocche in cielo e in terra', illustrated by Munari. The exhibition features a section with original volumes and a 'Laboratorio d’arte' where animated nursery rhymes by five artists (Andrea Antinori, Marianna Coppo, Massimiliano Di Lauro, Alessandro Sanna, Mariachiara Di Giorgio) reinterpret Rodari's stories. During lockdown, the lab held weekly web sessions where children drew along with artists; their drawings and tutorial videos are now displayed. The show embodies the 'grammar of fantasy' concept, engaging children as active participants.
