Celyn Jones on 'peak Welshness' with Hopkins and Zeta-Jones in 'A Visit to Grampa's'

Actor Celyn Jones described reaching 'peak Welshness' while working with Sir Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones on the film adaptation of Dylan Thomas's short story 'A Visit to Grampa's'. Jones told BBC Radio Wales that the experience was a 'homecoming' and a 'culture moment,' recalling a scene where he sang 'Myfanwy' as Hopkins played piano and Zeta-Jones served drinks. The film, shot in Dolgellau, Gwynedd, follows a young boy spending a summer with his eccentric grandfather on a Welsh farm. Hopkins, who plays Grampa, was praised for his approachability, stopping for photos with locals. New images released in April show Zeta-Jones's unnamed character alongside Hopkins. Jones also stars in the upcoming film 'On the Sea,' set in a remote north Wales fishing community on Anglesey, about a middle-aged man questioning his sexuality after a carefree visitor arrives. The film features Barry Ward and Lorne MacFadyen.
