Céline Turlotte and Jérémy Bindi: Body Mapping and Power

artist · 2026-04-23

The duo Céline Turlotte and Jérémy Bindi explore the intersection of violence and desire through the lens of mimetic desire theory, using sex toys as readymades to challenge traditional anatomical classifications. Born in 1990 in Hazebrouck and 1988 in Bois-Bernard, they live and work in Ourton, both graduates of ESA Dunkerque in 2015. Their exhibitions include Salo X in Paris (2022), Biennale Courts-circuits in Comines-Warneton, Belgium (2021), solo show Fata Morgana at Le Fret, Bruay-La-Buissière (2018), Mulhouse 017 biennial (2018), solo show Mème at La Plate-Forme, Dunkerque (2017), and several solo shows in 2016: Drive-In at Le Château Coquelle, Dunkerque; Épitaphe d’un alchimiste at La Confection Idéale, Tourcoing; and De l’embryon à l’idéel at Le Concept, Calais. They also participated in Esprit d’équipe at Hospice d’Havré, Tourcoing (2016). Their works include Hohle Fels Venus (2021, oil on canvas, 100 x 73 cm), the series Fleurs de chair (2020, watercolor on paper, 41 x 31 cm), Relationship (2021, latex, sutures), and preparatory drawings for Jardin des délices (2022).
