Celine's Selfridges pop-up features Takashi Homma's wave photography
Celine has opened a pop-up store titled 'Été Celine' at London's Selfridges, running until June 27, 2026. The pop-up features works by Japanese photographer Takashi Homma from his series 'New Waves', which he began in 2000 on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Homma's images capture waves with a hazy, dreamlike quality, taken at the same beach after sunrise using natural light. The pop-up showcases a summer collection by creative director Michael Rider, blending American prep and Parisian insouciance. The collection includes printed silks, bikinis with metal Triomphe charms, woven raffia baskets, Breton stripes, caps, sunglasses, denim shorts, cotton sundresses, towels, and sandals. Additionally, the pop-up offers a global pre-launch of Celine's Autumn 2026 collection, featuring accessories like vividly colored bags, beaded necklaces, charms, breezy shirts, printed silk shirts, and outerwear with shaggy tassels. The lookbook was shot by Zoë Ghertner. Rider, previously at Polo Ralph Lauren and Celine during Phoebe Philo's tenure, has defined the house's warm-weather wardrobe.
