Ce qui vient Biennale in Rennes Explores Art and the Future
The Ateliers de Rennes-Biennale d'art contemporain's second edition, named Ce qui vient, took place from April 30 to July 18, 2010, across various locations in Rennes, including the Couvent des Jacobins. Launched in 2008 by Bruno Caron of Norac, this biennial event received backing from public institutions. Curated by Raphaële Jeune, it showcased around fifty artists who examined the role of artistic creation in envisioning the future. Jeune highlighted themes of anticipation, strategy, and imagination. Featured works included high-tech aesthetics by Berdaguer & Péjus, a chance-based future by Renata Poljak, a critique of control from Julien Prévieux, Reynald Drouhin's burnt-wood Manhattan piece, and Michel de Broin's metal staircase titled Révolution, presenting a complex artistic viewpoint filled with perplexity rather than optimism.
