CCSP Presents Exhibition on Bahian Collective Etsedron from May 16
The Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP) opens the exhibition 'Passagem ETSEDRON' on May 16, featuring photos and documents about the Bahian collective Etsedron, active in the 1970s. The group, an anagram for 'Nordeste', was led by artist Edson da Luz and comprised over 20 members. Its multidisciplinary Environmental Projects brought together dancers, doctors, anthropologists, actors, engineers, and artists to discuss art, land, and humanity, proposing paths for Latin American art. The collective presented a radical vision of the Northeastern reality and participated in three editions of the Bienal Internacional de São Paulo in 1973, 1975, and 1977. Their work, using precarious materials to expose a suffering region, shows a strong regionalist character. This exhibition is part of CCSP's program utilizing its documentary archive, following a previous show on the 1st Latin American Biennial of 1978. 'Passagem ETSEDRON' is located at Rua Vergueiro, 1000, with free admission.
