CCR Venaria Reale expands with new scientific research hub for cultural heritage
A new scientific research and diagnostics hub focused on cultural heritage is being developed at the Centro Conservazione e Restauro (CCR) located at the Reggia di Venaria, close to Turin. Construction is set to commence in early 2026 and is expected to wrap up by October 2026. Spanning 600 square meters across two levels, the CCR Heritage Research facility will include eight laboratories and a public exhibition area, which will debut in autumn 2026. The project is backed by €3.5 million in funding, with €2.5 million sourced from Regione Piemonte, while additional financial support is being sought through crowdfunding and private donations. Under the leadership of Federica Pozzi since 2021, the CCR is preparing to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2025.
