CCCP punk band celebrated in Reggio Emilia exhibition with contemporary artists

exhibition · 2026-04-27

An exhibition in Reggio Emilia, Italy, celebrates the 40th anniversary of the punk band CCCP, curated by the musicians themselves in collaboration with four contemporary artists. The show spans the band's history from their origins to the fall of the Berlin Wall, with an immersive installation by Milan-based Vasques Studio. Ground floor rooms are dedicated to each album, while the first floor features video and music paths. Sculptor Luca Prandini created 'Soviet 110%', a monumental polystyrene sculpture inspired by the album 'Socialismo e barbarie', depicting the band in heroic Soviet-style statuary, with singer Annarella portrayed as Minerva. Sound artist Roberto Pugliese presents 'Onde', an interactive installation using an unreleased track from an archive, with speakers and sensors creating a distorted, punk atmosphere. Stefano Roveda (ex-Studio Azzurro) contributes 'Antropicon', a video installation reflecting on social conflict and protest through 45 minutes of archival footage. Arthur Duff's 'Fedeli alla lira' critiques consumerism and capitalism, replacing the band's original slogan with a commentary on money. The exhibition runs in Reggio Emilia, the band's hometown.
