Cazzotto: Artistic Punch Debuts in Perugia's Streets

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

On April 7, 2017, Perugia will kick off its first Cazzotto art festival, coinciding with the Festival del Giornalismo. This festival will feature an array of performances, installations, and videos presented in unconventional spots like newsstands, shop windows, and the Cinema PostModernissimo. The name "Cazzotto" is a nod to the original title of Perugina's famous chocolate, which was once called "cazzotto" before it rebranded as "bacio" (kiss). Notable artists participating include Giovanni Albanese, Marco Baldicchi, and many others. The Accademia di Belle Arti di Perugia is also involved, and organizers describe the event as a journey of live, vibrant art aiming to engage hurried pedestrians with its bold and unique expressions.
