Cavandoli's iconic Linea to race in Dakar Rally to fund studio museum

cultural-heritage · 2026-04-27

A Nissan Terrano decorated with Osvaldo Cavandoli's famous Linea will compete in the next Dakar Rally to raise funds for reopening his animation studio as a museum. The vehicle, presented in Milan at Via Prina 10, is part of a crowdfunding campaign called Cavandoli's Studio Visit launched by his son Sergio Cavandoli and the association Le Compagnie Malviste. The goal is to collect €16,500 to restore and permanently open the Studiocine Cavandoli to the public by the end of 2022 or early 2023. Drivers Emanuele Spriano and Gian Enrico Dutschler will pilot the car in the Arabian Peninsula rally. Donors of at least €20 receive merchandise featuring the Linea. The studio holds original tools, puppets, storyboards, and films requiring conservation.
